How I Spent My Saturday

We started the morning out at the opening day of the Farmer's Market...

while we were there we had breakfast...


and tasted a little of this...

we came home with a chive plant, coffee beans and a bottle of wine from a local winery. Here in Iowa there aren't any fresh veggies yet but we are looking forward to when they arrive at the market!

Then we picked up a few things at this sale.

We headed out to a nearby lake for a picnic lunch.

The rest of the afternoon was spent running some errands and then we ate here with Lee's parents to celebrate his Mom's birthday. (Totally forgot to have our picture taken while we were there!)

We had a fun weekend! What did you guys do?

March Madness

We have been super busy the past 2 weeks! I don't think I have ever mentioned this, but Lee and I are both graduates of the University of Northern Iowa. If you have been watching NCAA basketball March Madness, you may have heard of them. But I will start at the beginning. We took a long weekend and went to visit Lee's sister and niece and nephews down south. The night before we left UNI beat UNLV in the first round of the tournament. This ment that UNI would play #1 Kansas in Oklahoma City on March 20. Since Lisa only lives 3 hours from Oklahoma City, the three of us decided to go to the game.

We had a blast! Little UNI ended up beating the #1 team in the country, Kansas. It was a major upset and we were happy to be there cheering on the panthers!



We decided to keep going and follow the panthers to the Sweet Sixteen game in St. Louis this past Friday night.

The atmosphere in the dome was great. There were so many UNI fans there dressed in purple ready to cheer on the panthers. Even though UNI lost by 7 points, we were so proud and had a great time! (sorry for the bad picture!)

Of course we had to go see the arch before we left!

Weekend Recap: Brad Paisley

Friday night we went to the Brad Paisley concert with two of our good friends. We had a great time! The highlight of the night for me was Brad performing "Then". A friend of Lee's sang this song during our wedding ceremony so it's a special song for us. Here are a few pictures from the night.....
